After-school coordinator ... 4/2017

-        Overall, a lot of this looks really good.  There’s a lot of content here that I think is spot on with what we’re trying to do with our students: reinforcing values, approaching problems with a set strategy and process, building teamwork.

The following are the Benefits for these courses:

Student-engaged assessment involves students in understanding and in vesting in their own growth.

This program gives students the opportunity to be part of the lesson development as their design may be different then a scripted version.

It engages the students in the process.

Students will be treated as adults by developing an assessment plan, team guidelines and action guidelines.

It is empowering for students to have a voice in what they are creating and in how they show what they know.

When we teach through interdisciplinary units, it is much easier for students to make connections and bring their thinking to a higher level.

Students will have a follow-up plan and a Blog web site to continue their learning
